Having to avoid fruit, the wheat family, and the onion family can really be frustrating when it comes to mealtime.  Whether it's the dinner rolls, pizza crusts, or pasta at dinner or the cakes, cookies, and apple crumble at dessert; a fructmal diet can feel absolutely stifling at times.

Never fear!  There are lots of ways you can enjoy new variations on your favourite foods.  As well, you now have an incentive to look beyond the old standbys that our culture relies so heavily on, and explore different food experiences!

The Overlooked Traditional Recipes

These recipes are old favourites that you may have forgotten never involved wheat in the first place!

 

Pavlova is a meringue cake which uses eggs, sugar and cornstarch, but no flour.  Traditionally, it's served with fruit - but drizzle it with melted chocolate instead and there won't be any complaints!

Macaroons are are lovely treat, and don't always have coconut.  Here's a link to a few great ones.  FructMal tolerance varies for coconut, coconut juice/water and coconut milk.  You must determine your own tolerance.
