Snapper is a window/process explorer initially written for Windows95/NT but later I have discovered that it is working under 2000 too, but under XP only in compatibility mode.

This was my dissertation project when I have finished the faculty, at that time I was interested in stuff like this. Sources are available, albeit you might find it difficult to compile them under recent OSs.
