January 2014
We have ordered four trees 3 Prunus Kanzana and 1 Liquid amber for the area opposite the playsite. They will be planted as soon as they arrive.
Our Community Fun day is Saturday 7th June 2014. We are in the process of organising this event
Park is so waterlogged that all training and football matches have been postponed until the ground is fit for play
G.M  have planted tulip and daffodil bulbs by the hedge that seperates the park from the Convent ground
Batemans side. Pruning of Dogwood and other shrubs has made a big difference to this side of the park. Well done to our GM staff for their good work.
Roundabout in play area is being fixed, it was seizing up at certain times last year.
New bark has been put in wooden surround with the large multi play unit, but more is needed for it to be safe.
Crocuses, the best show ever and they have been respected by park users (see photo)
Bins have been replaced by ones with a wider mouth
Waitrose volunteers resumed the painting of the railings around the play area. They were not able to finish in their allotted time. Just 20mtrs left to paint
June 7th  Fun day was a great success The weather forecast was for thunderstorms but luckily we escaped them and had a lovely sunny afternoon, bringing out the crowds
June 16th   Green flag judges will be looking at our park
August 2nd  We have retained our Green Flag Status well done to all concerned
Three new tennis nets have replaced the old ones Thanks go to Darren for putting them in place for us. We have new panels for the Ball court, waiting for them to be fixed
Donkey has broken from its spring waiting for a new one
McCarthy & Stone want to purchase the Old Windmill hall site. We have seen the plans of a 3 story red brick building spanning the length of the site  22 dwellings It is not in keeping with surrounding properties Balconies will be overlooking the Park
We are urging everyone to see the plans and voice their opinions.
Re arrange the flower bed by the picnic area and add new plants. Get funding for more play equipment. Design banner for litter problems.
Arranging this years Fun day which will be our 7th for Saturday 9th May
MARCH 2015
Sadly we lost the day The McCarthy and Stone  Flats will be built even though we gave valid strong objections which all fell on deaf ears
We do not know when work will begin. We only know that this build will take away the privacy of park users and  will be an unsightly blot on the edge of our park.
This year the bulbs have given an excellent show at the front of the Park. The Daffs around the Oaks have doubled since last year giving a good show.
As we go into Summer time our GM Staff have done an excellent job of ;pruning the shrubs making for a well groomed park.
We have once again been given Official Friends status.
New equipment is being ordered for our play area and Friends have said they will fund painting of the old equipment.
The organising of our Fun day 9th May is going well
May 18th 2015
Our Funday was a great success we raised nearly £1,500  which wil go towards improving our park.
The day was chilly with gusty winds, Sun came out in the afternoon. We were visited by hundreds of people Waitrose sold strawberries and cream and donated the proceeds to us. and Paul Thompson Church gave away Teas and Coffee and a left a donation box for F.O.U.P
Hornchurch Drum and Trumpet gave two static performances.
See Photos.
New equipment is in the play area lots of complaints about the slide. The old one had to be replaced because it had been repaired so many times it was becoming unsafe. The new one is for slightly older children it has no side rails, to climb to the top is like climbing a ladder and the first step is deliberately high to stop younger children from climbing on their own. There are two other smaller slides in the play area.
Park was judged for the London parks in Bloom award
Cricket Benefit match is August  16th this year
January 2016
