The Friends of the San Pedro River Educational Series

The Friends of the San Pedro River Educational Series will connect students to science related issues that are happening today in their own backyards.  These video podcasts are about our local environmental topics happening in the Upper San Pedro Watershed of Cochise County Arizona. This series was developed by long time professional educators and scientists from the local community. These video podcasts were created using ten years worth of environmental footage collected along the San Pedro River, the great American Southwest and Northern Mexico.

The series is based on Arizona State Educational Standards in science for grades 4 through 8.  The videos will also answer the types of science questions that appear on the Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards test or the AIMS test in grades 4 and 8.  The videos will also attempt to address standards in higher grades and due to their reporting of current environmental issues nature will be relevant to all ages.   These video podcasts are from five to eighteen minutes long and some are segmented into smaller pieces and will be posted for teachers or anyone else who chooses to download the portions of the podcast and insert them into whatever educational presentation they choose.  The written script and teacher materials are available on a this web page as well as information about our services and other important links.
