About Paul

Paul Coverdell

Paul was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma in June of 2008.  Based on DNA testing of this tumor it was known to be at high risk of metastasizing.  Paul went through 4 months of intense trial chemo-therapy in the summer of 2009 with the goal of halting progression of the disease.Success of this treatment was uncertain.  From that point forward Paul went through periodic scans.  In July, 2011 it was discovered that the cancer had metastasized to the liver.  He underwent chemo-embolization treatment at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  Treatment was unsuccessful.   Paul is undergoing a second clinical trial in hopes of slowing down the growth rate. The hope is that growth will be slowed in time for a cure to be found.
