Friends of Over Silton Church
The Friends of Over Silton Church has been formed to help maintain and preserve the church of St. Mary's, Over Silton.

The church has been around since the Norman/Saxon eras, and until recently there were still regular services here throughout the summer months. However with a dwindling congregation it finally became unrealistic to continue holding services for one or two people.  Without support the church would inevitably become redundant resulting in complete closure.

We really don't want this to happen - ever!

Funds are needed to support the fabric of the church - the building and churchyard, fixtures and furniture, stained glass, and any special projects that would help to maintain this very special and unique building.
Just as previous generations have given generously to preserve this building now it is our turn to ensure that a vital piece of history and our heritage is kept alive.

The church is now used for ad hoc services, weddings, christenings, funerals - and of course is always open for private prayer.

We need your help to keep this church open and everyone is welcome to become a Friend of Over Silton Church: residents, businesses, visitors and anyone who feels a special affinity to the Church through religious, cultural or historical links.

You can become a Friend of Over Silton Church simply by completing the online form.

Thank you.
