The library is gearing up for our 2nd Annual History Fair to be held May 4-5, 2012 at Maury County Park and we could sure use your help! Here’s our “wish list” of help needed.

Friday, May 4 from 9 AM – 2 PM has been designated as education day. We are looking for several individuals who would be willing to serve as guides/docents to walk school groups through the progression of exhibits in the History Fair. Your job would be to assist teachers and young volunteers as they walk assigned school groups through the variety of exhibits. Primarily, we hope to give a structured and educationally valuable experience to each group and the volunteer’s job would be to see that their assigned groups visit each historical display/interpreter in an orderly fashion. The historical interpreters will do the primary teaching, you will just need get the groups to each station in the assigned order provided to you. Volunteers are needed for the 9 AM -11:30 AM shift and the 11:30 AM -2 PM shift. Please also plan to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to your shift start for orientation. We would love to have at least 3-4 people per shift, but any number would be greatly appreciated. If you are an educator who wishes to bring a class to the Festival, please see the registration form links below.
