The library's YOUmedia is one of nineteen digital learning spaces within the Chicago Public Library system?
The Albany Park Library, located at the southwest corner of Foster and Kimball, serves Chicagoans living, studying and working in the Albany Park and North Park neighborhoods. Our communities are some of the most diverse in the country, and a daily visit to the library reflects the vibrancy of our part of Chicago. Friends of Albany Park Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization that works in partnership with the Albany Park Library to support literacy, civic and cultural endeavors for the library and its patrons. We have been around since the former library site, with its artful designs in the windows facing Foster.
When the new location opened in September 2014, the community asset returned with additional services and opportunities. Friends of the Albany Park Library is excited to work with community members and organizations to make our library an essential space for learning, teaching and sharing.
Have a voice in literary, civic and cultural programs or opportunities at our local library. Membership starts at $5 a year, and open to anyone who uses the library.
We cannot replace the CPL calendar filled with branch happenings, but we can highlight readings, bookclubs and lectures happening in and near our branch.
