Friends of All Faiths is about being not just tolerant of all religions and faiths, but believing that in the main religion is a good thing and what people believe, and hold to as their faith, is to be respected. The author of this site has no particular religious affiliation. "Faiths" of which we are all friends of, refers to the main branches of religion established in the world today, such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Baha'i Faith, Hinduism, and Buddhism (list not all-inclusive). We are friends of all of the faiths which adhere to and promote some version of what we westerners call the golden rule, stated in many ways: Golden Rule in the World Religions.
This simple principle rules out those who say they are practicing a faith or doing something in the name of a religious idea but who cause harm, oppression, promote hatred, violence, and division among people. Then there is the "platinum rule," recently defined as treating others as they would like to be treated, not just as you yourself want to be treated. Of course, this involves somehow finding out how those people you encounter and don't know (these others), finding out how they want to be treated. That could take a while. So when dealing with others (often "the other") it seems easier on first response to Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful, or to Regard your neighbor’s gain as your gain, and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss.
When in 2014, four and a half years ago when I started this site, I cannot now remember exactly why I started it. Must have been one of the shootings at churches or acts of terror at local mosques, something like that. Today these topics are now more defined, in sharper focus, seeing as we are well into the unraveling of the domination of white supremacy and patriarchial rule.
