Early Years Practitioner Vacancy

Are you an outstanding Early Years Practitioner with the passion and skills to inspire and enthuse young children, and help them build strong foundations for a lifetime's learning?  Do you love using the outdoor environment and natural resources in learning? If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our friendly team at Freshford Pre-School! Ideally you will already be Level 3 qualified.

Salary£8.00-£8.50 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 16 hours total per week, term time only: 14 hours in the setting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8.30am to 3.30pm,  plus 2 hours paid non-contact time per week. 

Start date: Monday 3rd September 2018

Supply Staff Vacancies


We are currently recruiting Supply Early Years Practitioners to cover for staff absence on training and sickness.

Hours of work

To provide cover on demand during term times only:

Mondays – 8.30am/9am to 2/3.30pm

Tuesdays – 8.30am/9am to 2/3.30pm

Wednesdays – 8.30am/9am to 2/3.30pm

Thursdays – 8.30am/9am to 1.30pm

Ideally we are looking for staff who can be available at short notice. To cover for staff sickness we may need to contact you at about 7.30am to start work at 8.30/9am the same day.

Pay and terms and conditions of employment

Supply staff with a full and relevant Level 3 qualification or higher are paid £10 an hour, but are self-employed contractors so responsible for their own tax and NI if appropriate. Supply staff are paid according to a signed timesheet on a monthly basis.

Supply staff are responsible for covering the cost of their own DBS check, which will be verified using the DBS update service. Supply staff must supply two satisfactory references prior to any work being offered.

Volunteer Vacancies

We always welcome new volunteers of any age to work with the children. Volunteering with the Pre-school can also provide valuable experience before starting a teaching or childcare qualification.
