22 people showed up!
Did the normal re-cap of progress for the newcomers.
We have 6 potential spaces recon'd already.
Nope, make that 8... Logan did 2 more today.
Talked more about requirements for space. TODO(eater) split reqs into "need" and "want".
More re-cap about safety and location trade-offs. Bottom line: we'd like to get a crapload of options on the table so we can get the best of all worlds.
We are now more than 40. We *all* need to get out there and look at places. Drive around, write down numbers on "for leases" warehouse you see, etc. Got real estate buddies? Ask them for tips.
TODO(everybody): WE WANT 30 POTENTIAL SPACES ON THE LIST BY MAY 1, AND 40 POTENTIAL SPACES BY JUNE 1.
Go in person, take pictures, and ask the owner or sales rep about all the requirements on the list. Come back to the wiki and annotate details.
Talked more about loose partnerships with local geek groups... letting people hold meetings in our space (with supervision) for free or nominal recommended donation or something. Good idea.
Next Monday, let's bring a projector and go over the wiki in real time. TODO(your_name_here): bring a projector
More talk about location. How do we decide? Maybe the people who do the real estate scouting get votes. (Or *more* votes?) Maybe if we start dues a month early, all paying members get votes.
Eater shills for Decatur again. Eater doesn't even live near Decatur, but he wants people to value a cool part of town to set up shop. (Think: close to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.) You should listen to Eater, he's usually right.
Reminder that we're nearing our cap for "founding members". Sign up now, or end up in the wait-queue.
Lots of discussion about specific individual spaces. All involved, please be sure to update the wiki appropriately.
