Security and Hacking

Whats a hackerspace without a little hacking? Come learn to use some basic security assessment tools and the techniques used by hackers. We'll start by setting up a simple vulnerability lab that will let us learn to hack by example. Then we'll start by using automated assessment tools and work from there to manual exploitation, all the way to vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, and exploit development. Other topics we'll touch on include wireless security, physical security & social engineering, detection/evasion, and web application security.

We'll try to meet bi-weekly. Keep an eye on the calendar and the mailing list for details. Bring a laptop with nessus, metasploit, wireshark and your other favorite security tools. Have access to any proprietary tools? Bring them too! More details will be posted on the mailing list before each meeting.
