Rebuttal to CIAAs 2018-19 (latest) attempts to stop Freedom Camping

Late in 2018, RV travellers across Australia became aware of a document created by the Caravan Industry Association of Australia [CIAA]. The document was titled “Non-Compliant Camping, a Toolkit for Caravan Park Operators”.

It is a document offered to caravan park owners / managers to be used by them to defeat community attempts to create or continue existing low-cost or ‘freedom-camping’ in the region / shire that also contains the caravan park.

The materials within the CIAA document purport to be accurate and credible. Regrettably for the authors and the CIAA as an organisation, the claims within the document fail to supply the most elementary of source-citations vouching for their authenticity. Even more regrettable is that simple examination of the claims made in the CIAA document also shows them to be grossly erroneous.

The Rebuttal Response has been put together my several members of the team with input from others in the facebook group.

The CIAA "Non-Compliant Camping Toolkit" to be found below contains pages 1 to 12 ... ie: the primary claims and Case Studies used in their proposal to caravan parks.  The annexures of charts have been removed from this copy as their inclusion does not add anything to the overall story.  Should readers wish to view the charts we suggest you obtain the full document from CIAA.
