To minimize the surprise factors after the university "last day to drop" date, here are a few things that may help you make good class registration decisions.
  • My English is not going to improve anytime soon.
If you can not understand it the first time, the chance is zero that you will know what I am talking about the rest of the semester.
  • I do not publish homework nor exam solutions.
Instead, students are encouraged to discuss issues and doubts in class discussion groups.  Please refer to  discussion group posting for your consideration.
  • I give ABCDF grades only, no plus or minus.
For those of you who needs A+, B+ or C+ to get scholarship or avoid probation, sorry I don't do that.  On the other hand, if you add a little effort to become A- or B-, you get a bonus ride.
  • I have a peculiar "NFL challenge" rule on exam scores.
Exam paper scores can be challenged.  However, I'll re-grade the "entire paper" (not just the particular problem).  If I made mistakes, I'll gladly correct it and apologize.  If there is no mistake, the student pays a penalty (e.g. lost a timeout).
That's all I can think of for now.
