Francis Kish ( born Kiss Francisc/Kiss Ferenc ) May 10, 1956 Arad-Romania, is an award-winning American Professional Visual Artist, Filmmaker, Director, Producer, 3D Animator/CGI, Photographer, Poet.

Born to a Polish-German-Hungarian family in Arad, Romania-Europe, Francis Kish left the country in 1987. After time in Yugoslavia, he emigrated to the United States in 1988, to Portland, Oregon and later the same year he moved to Glendale, California to enjoy freedom of artistic expression and continue his professional artistic career.

In 1996, Francis Kish became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Presently he is a Creative Consultant/2D-3D Computer Graphics/Animation/Visual FX and Professional Visual Artist. He lives in Glendale, California with his wife.

Francis Kish's passion for Arts and Animation could be seen throughout his entire artistic career on different projects. From early age he studied: Stop-Motion Animation, Cinematography, Film Production, Photography and Special FX at the CineClub Studios in Arad, Romania frequently visited by artist Ion-Popescu Gopo, the founder of the modern Romanian cartoon school.

Between 1967 - 1975 Francis studied: Graphic Design, Illustration, Drafting, Free-Hand Drawing, Painting, Sculpting and Ceramics, History of Arts, Philosophy and Aesthetics at the College of Music and Visual Arts "Sabin Dragoi", Arad, Romania.

As Professional Visual Artist, Francis worked on different projects at "Aradeanca" Dolls/Toys Manufacturing Co., Arad, Romania. As dolls and toys Lead Designer/Sculptor he designed, created and produced original dolls and toys designs for domestic and international markets. At the Arts and Crafts Ceramics Studios, Arad, Romania where he worked as Supervisor/Lead Designer, he designed, created and produced original and unique ceramics and craft art for the domestic tourism markets.

Between 1983 - 1987 he worked as Restoration Lab Manager - Specialist/Sculptor at Historic Preservation Office and Historic Architectural Landmarks, Arad, Romania. Together with a Team of Architects and City Council members, Francis worked on many projects involving preservation of landmarks and architectural heritage of historic neighborhoods. Projects included residential as well as commercial architecture.

In 1998 at Digital Film, Video and 3D Animation Academy - "Video Symphony", Burbank, CA, Francis Kish studied Softimage 3D Animation and Character Design software package running on Windows NT platform. Here he experimented by producing a complete project-program specifically suited for television use, in an industry standard environment and all necessary Audio-Video production techniques and procedures including Non-Linear Editing, Compositing & Digital Visual Effects with Adobe Premiere and Adobe AfterEffects, Sound Recordings, Digital Sound Effects Design, Digital and Analog output.

"The Dream" was screened on June 9, 1999 at the Kids' Film Festival within the 1999 Nashville Independent Film Festival. Entirely 3D computer generated, "The Dream" depicts a surrealist story about a dream within a dream of a kid, who dreams becoming a hero everybody loves and admires. "The Dream" was also selected at the 1999 International Computer Animation Film Festival organized by the University of MiraLab in Geneva, Switzerland where it was among all the 13 finalists from all international entries. "The Dream" was presented at the 1999 Conference at Academy for Science and Mathematics, Centrum Voor Wiskunde en Informatica, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Annecy 1999 International Animation Film Festival and MIFA, France and Mediawave 1999 International Film Festival, Hungary.

Francis was involved in creating, designing and producing all marketing related materials such as Audio-Visual presentations, Demos, Trailers and printed materials for Trade Shows and Special Events.

Francis Kish created the AISTproFX poster in 2002 for AIST proFX Special FX software package, GermanyAIST proFX was the latest addition to AIST MediaLab AG family of digital video software, a new comprehensive and sophisticated Digital Visual FX software package consisting of 32 Digital Visual FX plug-ins which could be applied to any PAL, NTSC and HD video footage. Francis Kish created the AIST proFX Motion Graphics presentation for both European and US markets in both PAL and NTSC formats to match the aspect ratio of the local television monitors. At AIST MediaLab AG in Germany, Francis Kish created, designed and produced Motion Graphics presentations for 2001 and 2002 Computer Trade Shows and Special Events including: IBC - International Broadcasters Conference, Amsterdam, Netherlands, CeBIT - Hanover, Germany, IBTS - Milan, Italy, MILIA - France, Spain and NAB - Las Vegas, U.S. to market and advertise all new Non-Linear Editing, Compositing and Digital Visual Effects software packages AIST MoviePack 4.0 and AIST eXtreme known today as CINEGY eXtreme - www.cinegy.com. The development of Cinegy was originally kicked-off in 1999 by request of the BBC, who was looking for an integrated digital archive, asset management and production environment - all based on desktop PC hardware on the front end & standard IT server equipment on the back-end, all sitting on the existing network infrastructure of the BBC, and the Visual Effects plug-ins package AIST proFX for eXtreme.

Francis Kish has been part of several successful projects including AIST MoviePack 4.0, AIST eXtreme and AIST proFX software packages, which have been well received by the professional European and US markets and have received excellent reviews in professional trade publications such as DIGIT, IDG Communications Ltd., London.

Francis Kish filed a Memorandum/Petition (No 456/2004) on June 2004, with the European Parliament, The President of European Parliament, Rue Wiertz, B-1047 BRUSSELS, concerning Human Rights violation issues related to American citizens and their families living and working abroad in Germany. Due to such violations, Francis Kish and his wife Zoe-Dora Kish lost all their artwork, intellectual property, personal possessions, legal documents and records which were retained in Germany and not recovered until the present time.
