My research is mainly focused on mechanism design, as applied to environmental economics, development economics and political economy. In general, I am interested in modeling situations where a social planner aims at implementing socially optimal outcomes in the absence of information about the agents' preferences or tastes. My latest research is somehow in the intersection between traditional mechanism design and the new "hot topic" field of behavioral economics. Jointly with Juan Perote-Peña, this research project is devoted to studying the implementation of optimal outcomes considering the way how people really respond to economic incentives.
