I am currently a Lead Economist at the Institute for Economic Development of the World Bank Group.
I was previously Director in the Structural Economics Directorate (DG Economics, Statistics & Research) at the Bank of Italy.
I hold a PhD in Economics from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and I have been a visiting fellow at Harvard University and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
I also served as Vice-Chair of the OECD Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
My research explores firm dynamics, innovation, productivity, and growth. I have published widely on these topics.
I am also professor in Firm Dynamics and in Economics of Innovation at LUISS University in Rome
