The site was originally part of Hanwell Park Estate, the grounds of a large country house situated on the site of what is now Drayton Manor High School. By 1913, Hanwell Park House had been demolished, the streets that exist today were being built to the north and south of what would become the allotment site and just two years later the Allotments themselves were being laid out.
Many thanks to our resident historian, Dave Blackwell, for gathering the above information.
If you have anything to add to history of Hanwell Park or Framfield Allotments, please contact Tristan Marshall at email@example.com or speak to Dave Blackwell. We would be particularly interested in seeing any historical photographs of the Allotments.
