The site was originally part of Hanwell Park Estate, the grounds of a large country house situated on the site of what is now Drayton Manor High School. By 1913, Hanwell Park House had been demolished, the streets that exist today were being built to the north and south of what would become the allotment site and just two years later the Allotments themselves were being laid out.

The history of Framfield Allotments goes back to 6 March 1900 when the list for applicants was in existence. Read through the Framfield timeline or view the 1915 map.

Many thanks to our resident historian, Dave Blackwell, for gathering the above information.
