Foreign Qualifications Recognition Links March 2010
FQR Links fqr links

The first step to assisting an internationally educated professional or tradesperson toward working in their occupation in Alberta is to find out if their occupation is regulated. If their occupation is not regulated, they can work in that occupation if they satisfy the employer's requirements. Employers will want to see that they have the necessary education and work experience. They may need to get their internationally earned qualifications assessed or accredited to show they meet the same standards as in Canada. If their occupation is regulated it means there are legal requirements and restrictions that they must meet to work in that occupation.
