We at First Presbyterian are blessed by the music leadership of Ray Frasche as our interim choir director and organist. Ray manages to bring out the very best from the chancel choir, encouraging and teaching us to sing a little better than we thought we could and to share beautiful and inspirational music to enhance our worship experience.

Chancel Choir

It has been said that when one sings they pray twice.  Music is a very important part of church life, both in worship and fellowship.  Each Sunday, and on special occasions, the chancel choir provides music that enhances our worship, helping us all to feel God’s presence while we listen for God’s Word.  In addition, the chancel choir is really a small group ministry within the church.  Members support and care for each other; we pray together, share meals together, and spend a lot of time laughing together.

Our chancel choir is comprised of adults from all backgrounds and all skill levels.  No experience or knowledge of music is needed to be a part of this wonderful group.  If you are looking for a spiritual and fun way to be involved in the church, please consider joining the chancel choir.  The choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 PM.   ** In the summer, we take a vacation and practice only once per month.

Music for Children

At present, we do not have a formal children's choir, but Ray Frasche is working with individual children to develop their singing and provide special music during worship services.

Handbell Choir

In addition to singing, we also have a wonderful handbell choir.  If an angel gets its wings every time a bell rings, this group has certainly earned its wings many times over.  Again, you do not need any experience or even know how to read music, just a desire to make a joyful noise to the Lord.  The handbell choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 6:50 PM.   **We do not practice or perform in summer months.
