Diane and Torrie.

 

Diane Anderson, LCSW-R, CASAC, Founder & Co-Director
Diane is a New York State Certified Social Worker and a Credentialed Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselor. She is the Assistant Director of HIV Services at St. John's Riverside Hospital, a New York State AIDS Institute Designated AIDS Center. Diane's diverse experience includes work with the developmentally disabled, the severely mentally retarded, alcohol and substance users and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Diane combines her healthcare experience with a love of animals. She is a certified Delta Society Pet Partner, and a Licensed Pet Partner Evaluator. She shares her life with two canine companions, Meisha (a Husky) and  Feather (a German Shepherd Dog). In addition, three cats and a flock of chickens grace her life.

Kay Scott, LCSW-R, CASAC, Founder & Co-Director

Kay is a Licensed Clnical Social Worker and Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. She is the Director of HIV Services at St. Johns Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY.  She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Social Services at Fordham University.   Her dissertation work has to do with how mental health professionals are using therapy canines with individuals who have survived potentially traumatic events. 

Kay brings many years experience as an educator and manager of both volunteers and paid staff. In addition, she has extensive experience obtaining and managing grants.

Kay combines her diverse background with her love for and experience with canines. She trains people and their canines to enjoy peaceful and mutually fulfilling relationships.  Kay is a member of the International Assocaion of Canine Professionals, a (Delta Society) Pet Partner Evaluator, and a service dog evaluator for The Foundation for Service Dog Support. She provides both private and group instruction in pet dog training.  She lives with two Golden Retreivers (Spirit and Willow), both of whom are therapy dogs certified for crisis response work by National Animal Assisted Crisis Response.  She also has an Aussie, Jasper.  Kay continues her work with animal assisted crisis response that she began shortly after 9/11.
