What We Learned

Definitions

Activity #12- Surface Tension

<---These are the materials we used

<--- This is the Soap Solution

<---- This is a card that says Adhesion. Adhesion is when 2 of the opposite substances attract.

<--- This is us making the expiriment.

<----This is a card that says Cohesion. Cohesion is when 2 of the same substances attract.

<---- This is a picture of copper wire we used for our expiriment.

Activity #3- Friction

<---- This is a picture of some of the materials we used.

Here is a picture of us doing the activity.

<---- Here is another picture of us doing the activity.

<----Here is some of the materials we used.

<---- This is the bottom of one of the shoes we used for ours activity. This shows the grip and how much friction it will have.

We learned that friction is the force that slows objects down. It is cause when two surfaces rub against eachother.

Activity #2- Collisions

Here is a picture of the materials we used.

We had to play a game basically about pool, but we used some different materials. We learned what force cause these things to move when they got hit.

Here is a picture of what it looked like when we started to play.

Here are some pictures of us playing.

From doing this we learned all about momentum and that the force tht was causing this to happen is called compression.

Activity #19- Magnetic Force

This is a picture of a compass. It is a material that we used.

Here is a picture os some of the materials that we used.

Here is a magnet that we used.

Here are both of the magnets that we used.

Activity #5- Forces all around us

Here is a picture of the materials we used. All that we used was plastcine

Here is how the ball looked after we dropped it from knee height.

Here is how it looked after we dropped it from shoulder height.

Here is how it looked when we dropped it from as high as we can reach.

Here is how all of the 3 balls looked.

we lwarned that the higher you drop a ball, the more gravitational pull it will have.

Activity #15- Speeding up and slowing down

Here are the materials that we used.

Here are the weights we used.

Here is us rolling the truck down the ramp with no weight in it.

Here is us rolling the truck down the ramp with weight in it.

Here is a picture of the truck when it stopped rolling.

From doing this activity we learned that the heavier and object is, the more friction is caused which slows it down faster.

Activity #9- Gravity

Here is a picture of the materials we used.

Here are the weights we used to drop.

Here are the imprints the weights made in the plasticine.

As you can see the heavier weight (right) had a bigger imprint and the smaller weight (left) left a smaller one. Even though they fell at the same time and landed at the same time.
