Seattle Attractions Costs

This page contains the admission prices for some of the attractions in the downtown Seattle area.  These prices were obtained from websites and may not be current.  See Seattle Attractions for further descriptions.

Transportation from Seattle Center to Downtown


 
Monorail from Seattle Center to downtown Seattle 
  • Round-trip fares are $4.50 for adults; $2.25 one way. 
  • Weekend hours:   8:30 AM to 11:00 PM
  • The Seattle Center Monorail operates daily, with departures every 10 minutes from the station at SeattleCenter, (across from the Space Needle) and from Westlake Center Mall, at Fifth and Pine Street.  Each trip takes two minutes to cover the 1 mile route. Each train can carry up to 200 passengers per trip.

Downtown Seattle has a "free ride area." Riding a public bus outside of the free ride area but within the City of Seattle is one zone; the cost is $2.25 during off-peak periods (Saturday is off-peak). See Metro Transit's fare schedule.  

 

NOTE: The Waterfront Streetcar is not running this year but buses (Route 99) will cover the same route and, at this time (Nov 2011), are free. Northbound service on Route 99 shifted from Alaskan Way to First Avenue. Southbound service continues to operate on Alaskan Way from Broad Street to Yesler Way.  See map and Saturday time schedule
 
COST: Riding in the downtown area is free (see map below). The Seattle Center is outside the downtown area. To ride the bus outside of the downtown free area on a Saturday, a ticket is $2.25.  Pay as you board.  If you will need to transfer to another bus to complete your trip, ask for a transfer when you pay.
  • Riding Metro Transit is free in downtown (map) Seattle between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • The Ride Free Area extends from the north at Battery St. to S. Jackson St. on the south, and east at 6th Ave. to the waterfront on the west. Tunnel stations are included in the Ride Free Area. Currently, the waterfront bus (99) is also free.
  • For travel from SeattleCenter to Westlake Mall, take Metro routes 3, 4, or 16 southbound on Fifth Ave. from the bus stop in front of Experience Music Project on Fifth Ave or take the Monorail.
  • For travel from Westlake Mall to SeattleCenter, take Metro routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 13, or 16 northbound from the bus stop on Third Ave. between Pike and Pine Streets.
  • Metro routes 116, 118 and 119 are not included in the Ride Free area.

Smith Tower – Better AND CHEAPER than the Space Needle
Saturday 10:00 am to 3:30 pm (November 12).

Washington State Ferry

From downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island, $7.50
Departing from Pier 52 (on Alaskan Way near Marion)

Seattle to Bainbridge Island – approximately 35 minutes one way, allow approx 1 hr, 30 min round trip.

Leaving Seattle:          12:20; 1:10; 2:05; 3:00; 3:45 (do not leave Seattle any later than this)

Leaving Bainbridge Island: 1:10; 2:05; 2:55; 3:50; 4:35 (arriving in Seattle approx 5:10 PM)

Getting to the Museum of Flight 

  

From downtown Seattle take the MT 124 to Museum of Flight, East Marginal Way S & S 94th Pl

The MT 124 travels south through downtown Seattle. Use Google Trip planner and adjust departure place and time as needed.

On Saturdays, buses depart approx every 30 minutes. See schedule for MT 124.

 

When you are finished at the Museum: 

 

Metro Bus 124 (the only weekend bus) stops in front of the Museum of Flight at East Marginal Way S & S 94th Pl (only 50 yards from the entrance to the Musuem of Flight).  It travels north into the downtown Seattle and goes through downtown on 4th Ave S. It takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the downtown area from the Museum of Flight.
