About

I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Bologna. I am also an Adjunct Professor of International Relations at the School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University (Europe Campus).

My research focuses on collective violence, organized crime, and defense and national security policies, focusing on how armed forces adapt to the changing global security environment. I like escaping the boundaries of my sub-disciplines and explore political economy,  technology policy, and organizational behavior.

I have been teaching and/or researching, among else, at the University of Milan-BicoccaLUISS Guido Carli in Rome, University of FlorenceMIT Center for International StudiesJohns Hopkins University Bologna CenterIstituto di Scienze Militari Aeronautiche of the Italian Air ForceIstituto Italiano di Scienze Umane (SUM)Dickinson College, and at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler's Research Project on International Politics and Conflict resolution (CeRPIC), working on research for NATO Allied Command Transformation
