Our special thanks to the more than 150 volunteers that helped make First Night Alexandria 2012 such a huge success!

Volunteer sign-up for First Night Alexandria starts on October 1, 2013!

Find a partner, or volunteer by yourself...this is a great way to enjoy the best New Years party in the region!

First Night Alexandria is a community celebration of the New Year through the performing arts – music, dance, magic, games, comedy, clowns, storytelling and more.  It is family-friendly, safe, affordable and accessible to all. It is a time for families and individuals of all ages and ethnicities, in a casual atmosphere, to celebrate the end of one year and the hope of a new one. First Night Alexandria is a non-profit organization that supports local performers.

: First Night volunteers MUST be at least 16 years old, and volunteers under 18 years old MUST have parental/guardian permission.

Please use ONE application for each volunteer.

: People who would like to volunteer together should identify their requested partner(s) on the form. All efforts will be made to honor your request, but placement cannot be guaranteed.

: Requests are filled on a first come first served basis. Priority is given to previous volunteers and those that attend our orientation in December.

For all locations on New Years Eve, volunteers will be asked to "
sign in" at least one hour before their shift begins at our volunteer headquarters at Durant Recreation Center (1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria 22314). You may do this as early as 3 p.m. and you will receive your free admission badge, a box lunch, and your apron.

PREVIOUS CRIMINAL RECORD: A conviction record does not automatically disqualify you from volunteering. The nature of the offense(s), date(s) of conviction, and any pattern offenses will be carefully considered in an attempt to protect First Night Alexandria, its volunteers, and patrons.
