Fairhaven Middle School’s PTSA supports our kids, teachers, and staff in a variety of ways throughout the year – all of which depend on gathering resources, both time and money, from our families. Whatever you have to give, we will accept with gratitude and use it to enhance the experience of the FMS community.

Here are 4 simple ways you can support your FMS PTSA!

Donate Money

When our parents said, “No more magazine sales!”, we listened and we took action to simplify fundraising at FMS! So, get ready to Write a Check to the Middle School Fund. The Middle School Fund campaign will start September 21, and end with an FMS community celebration (details to be determined) on Friday, October 7th. Stay tuned for more information about this campaign. This is our only fundraiser for the year – any gift, large or small, will be appreciated and used to pay for activities and resources that enrich the experience of our kids.

Link Your Fred Meyer Rewards to FMS

You can support your FMS PTSA simply by shopping at Fred Meyer! When you link your Rewards Card to our organization, Fred Meyer will donate a percentage of every sale to FMS PTSA. Information on how to link your Rewards card to FMS will be posted soon.

Successful fundraising efforts allow us to provide:

  • Experiential Education Opportunities
  • Teacher Support—Grants to support classroom teachers or grade level initiatives, elective offerings, and library materials.
  • Yearbooks for each and every student.
  • Student Support—program scholarships, and support for our counselors.
  • 8th grade promotion and Family Socials.
  • And many other contributions!

We sell SCRIP cards year round as a "passive" fundraiser.

SCRIP is a passive fundraising partnership between retailers and non-profits like FMS PTSA. Participating retailers agree to sell gift cards to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, you redeem them for full face value, and our PTSA keeps the difference as income. This is great because everybody wins:

  • Retailers get cash up front and repeat business…
  • You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling…
  • Our school PTSA gets a regular and ongoing source of revenue.

SCRIP cards look just like gift cards or certificates you would buy yourself from vendors like Fred Meyer, Food Co-Op, or Pizzazza, and even national chains such as Zappos and REI. The difference is, for example, your $100 SCRIP card not only allows you to buy groceries, it returns 5-20% to the PTSA from the retailer as a donation. If you already shop at these merchants, using SCRIP cards can make a big difference to our kids. Fred Meyer cards are excellent for using with gas purchases.
