Francesco Marino received the "Laurea" in physics from the University of Milan (Italy) in 1999, and the Ph.D. Degree from the University of Balearic Islands (Spain) in 2004. Between 2005 and 2010 he worked as a post-doc researcher at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the University of Florence and the European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy (LENS), Italy. Currently, he is a researcher at the National Institute of Optics of the National Research Council (CNR). His research activities mainly concern experimental and theoretical studies on nonlinear dynamics and nonlinear optical systems, gravitational waves detection, cavity opto-mechanics and analogue models of gravity.
