Fabio López Pires is Doctor in Computer Science, Master in Networks and Data Communications and Computer Engineer from the Polytechnic Faculty of the National University of Asunción in Paraguay.
He has been internationally specialized in Cloud Computing and Executive Data Science. Additionally, he has International Certifications in Innovation Management, Cybersecurity and Information Technology Service Management.
As part of his experience in innovation, he has coordinated projects in various areas such as Information Technology, Health and Education. He is part of the Main Team of the National Innovation Strategy, led by the Management Unit of the Presidency of the Republic.
As an academic, his research has been published at important scientific conferences in various countries in America, Europe, and Asia, as well as in prestigious high-impact journals and research books.
He has received national and international recognitions for his research work, such as: the National Science Prize 2018, awarded by the National Congress of Paraguay, the Dr. Andrés Barbero Prize 2018, awarded by the Scientific Society of Paraguay, Awards in the Latin American Doctoral Thesis Competition 2018 and in the Latin American Master's Thesis Competition 2014, awarded by the Latin American Center for Computer Studies (CLEI) in Brazil and Uruguay respectively, as well as the Best Scientific Article Award at the International Conference Cloud Computing and Services Sciences (CLOSER) 2015 in Portugal.
His research lines are focused on Interdisciplinary Computational Sciences, mainly in Cloud Computing, Multi-Objective Optimization, Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as in University-Industry Interaction and Incorporation of ICT in Education.
Fabio López Pires es Doctor en Ciencias de la Computación, Máster en Redes y Comunicaciones de Datos e Ingeniero en Informática por la Facultad Politécnica de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción en Paraguay.
Se ha especializado a nivel internacional en Computación en la Nube y Gestión para Ciencias de Datos. Además, cuenta con Certificaciones Internacionales en Gestión de la Innovación, Ciberseguridad y Gestión de Servicios de Tecnologías de Información.
Como parte de su experiencia en innovación, ha coordinado proyectos en diversas áreas como Tecnologías de la Información, Salud y Educación. Forma parte del Equipo Impulsor de la Estrategia Nacional de Innovación, liderada por la Unidad de Gestión de la Presidencia de la República.
Como académico, su investigación ha sido publicada en importantes congresos científicos en diversos países de América, Europa y Asia, así como también en prestigiosas revistas de alto impacto y libros de investigación.
Ha recibido reconocimientos nacionales e internacionales por sus trabajos de investigación, entre los que se destacan: el Premio Nacional de Ciencias 2018, otorgado por el Congreso Nacional de Paraguay, el Premio Dr. Andrés Barbero 2018, otorgado por la Sociedad Científica del Paraguay, Premios en el Concurso Latinoamericano de Tesis de Doctorado 2018 y en el Concurso Latinoamericano de Tesis de Maestría 2014, otorgados por el Centro Latinoamericano de Estudios en Informática (CLEI) en Brasil y Uruguay respectivamente, así como el Premio al Mejor Artículo Científico en la Conferencia Internacional de Computación en la Nube y Ciencias de Servicios (CLOSER) 2015 en Portugal.
Sus líneas de investigación se enfocan en Ciencias Computacionales Interdisciplinares, principalmente en Computación en la Nube, Optimización Multi-Objetivo, Inteligencia Computacional y Aprendizaje Automático así como también en Interacción Academia-Industria e Incorporación de las TIC en la Educación.
