To prepare for the scrimmage on Sunday, the team practiced all the missions the robot can do (Get Fish, Corn Harvest, Yellow Truck, Green Bacteria, Pink Bacteria, Get Trailer, Pizza and Ice Cream, Return Baby Fish). Unfortunately they were not all successful, and it took over 9 minutes. Both the team and the robot need to move faster!
The team continued improving and programming the robot, and decided to add light sensors to help the robot move more accurately. A simple white-left/black-right line following program made the robot zig-zag too much, so the team reprogrammed it using proportional control. One light sensor tracks the line while a second color sensor tells the robot when to stop. We hope this will make the robot position more reliable for the Pizza and Ice cream mission.
