Computer and Technology Training

Free computer classes will be offered at least once a quarter. Please check our event calendar for dates and times. Classes will cover a wide array of topics, such as, basic skills, Microsoft Office software, social media, device help and more. For individualized help, one-on-one appointments can be made on Tuesday afternoons, during Tuesday Tech Help.* Bring your own device, or let us show you on ours!

Below are some helpful sites for online computer training:

TN Electronic Library- Computer Skills Center - TEL offers a variety of training video tutorials on topics such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Using your OS, Adobe, Photoshop, and more.

Digital Learn - offers several different short and easy to use courses on several topics, like "Intro to Email," "Online Scams," "Intro to Facebook," or "Buying a Plane Ticket." You are not required to make an account to use these tutorials.

GCF Learn Free - This website goes beyond just computer skills to include tutorials GED prep, resume help, math skills, reading skills, and so much more!

Tech Boomers - Find out all you need to know about your favorite apps, such as Google Maps, Zoosk, Tinder, Snapchat, EventBrite, LinkedIn, Netflix, Spotify, and more. This site has a truly remarkable catalog of free learning material on a wide variety of topics for all ages.

Mousing Around - Use this fun and engaging game to improve your mouse skills! A must for everyone learning computer skills! A certificate is available at the end of the game to show off your achievements.

Using Overdrive App for Digital Books -
If you're using the Overdrive App for digital books, you may need some help along the way. Overdrive has a plethora of videos and helpful tutorials on using the app with different devices, getting started, and more.

Northstar Digital Literacy - Use Northstar to assess your skills and see how far you've come! Assessments cover Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Basic Skills, Internet Skills, Windows and Mac OS, Email, and more. Scores are available at the end of each assessment to evaluate your strengths and learning needs.

*FLC Library staff cannot make any modifications to personal devices that are illegal. FLC Library staff will not repair any broken or damaged hardware.
