Who we are?

Started in 1987, the Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference (FLAIRS) is a medium sized research conference held in Florida which embraces all areas of artificial intelligence. FLAIRS features a double-blind review process and embraces novel and multidisciplinary approaches. Applications of AI are always well represented and are presented alongside papers oriented towards methods or theory. According to Arnetminer, FLAIRS is ranked in the top 20% out of 300 AI conferences, and in the top 30% out of 56 multidisciplinary AI conferences, as measured by paper references published in the research literature. This is an incredible achievement for a medium-sized conference. After 30 years and explosive growth in AI, FLAIRS is still the home for new cutting-edge research, multidisciplinary approaches, and applications of AI.

Attendees and Organizers

FLAIRS attracts approximately 190-240 attendees, primarily from university settings. Approximately 15% of attendees are from industry and government. Over 40% of attendees are students and at least 40% of attendees travel from or originate from countries outside the United States. Over 90% of attendees travel from outside the state of Florida. The organizers are a mix of prominent researchers from universities, industry and government. At least 50% of the FLAIRS organizers and committee members are located in or originate from countries outside the United States.

Sponsorship Benefits

Many of our sponsors use FLAIRS to engage with the next generation of researchers in AI and to expose their personnel to novel ideas that are too far out of the mainstream to make it into a larger, traditional, or "clubby" conference.  A variety of sponsorships are available. These include General Conference Sponsorship, Sponsored Workshops, and Sponsored Special Tracks.  Note: over 60% of all revenues from sponsorship is used to fund AI education and travel grants for students and disadvantaged professors.  All interested sponsors should contact the Conference Chair Dr. Zdravko Markov, markovz@ccsu.edu or the Sponsorship Chair, Dr. David Bisant, bisant@umbc.edu.
