Cup Cake Egg Cosies

 
 
 
 
 
Merinowool „Universal“ from Wolle Rödel (125m/50g): 50g in chocolate brown, 50g in off white and 50g in cherry red; Soft Merino from Wolle Rödel (100m/50g) in soft pink (I used this , as there was no suiting soft pink in the “Universal” range) and sand.
5 dpns 3mm, needles 3,5mm
 
Cup cakes with "straight" icing
 
CO 40st with dpns 3mm in chocolate or sand, close to the round without twisting the stitches.
Knit 10 rds in ribbing k1 p1.
k 4 rds
k6 rds in soft pink or white, start with decreases (you have knitted 20 rds so far):

rd 21: *k2tog, k6, continue * until end of rd
rd 22 and all even rds: k
rd 23: *k2tog, k5, repeat * until end of rd
rd 25: *k2tog, k4, repeat * until end of rd
rd 27: *k2tog, k3, repeat * until end of rd
rd 29: *k2tog, k2, repeat * until end of rd

Pull thread through remaining st, weave in.


Cup cakes with "wavy" icing and cherry on top
 
CO 40st with dpns 3mm in chocolate or sand, close to the round without twisting the stitches.
knit 10 rds in ribbing k1 p1
k 1 rd, start with the icing in white (you have knitted 11rds so far)

rd 12: *k2 in white, k6 in choc/sand, repeat * until end of rd
rd 13: *k3 in white, k4 in choc/sand, repeat * until end of rd
rd 14: *k4 in white, k2 in choc/sand, repeat * until end of rd
rd 15 - end of project: k white

in rd 21 start decreasing following the instructions above "cup cakes with "straight" icing

...And a Cherry on Top
 
CO 3st with needles 3,5mm
row 1: kfb all st = 6st
row 2: p
row 3: *k1, kfb, repeat * until end of row
row 4: p
row 5: *K1, k2tog, repeat * until end of row
row 6: p
row 7: *k2tog, repeat * until end of row

Pull thread through the remaining 3st and through the seam of project. Pull together like a little bag. Stuff with CO tail or a few wool scraps, close and sew onto your cup cake!
