Trotting the Globe with Kids in Tow
We are a new breed of Entrepreneurs - those with the ability to travel at will while running a business from just about any location. Our only ties are the kids school schedules which we haven't found a way to get around without becoming creepy homeschoolers living on a ranch and wearing prairie dresses.
(No offense intended if you homeschool, live on a ranch or wear prairie dresses).
We are partial to tropical beaches, prefer low rise to high rise and think that ocean front is definitely worth the extra money. We'd rather SCUBA dive the reef than see wax at Ripley's.
Kayaks instead of bumper boats.
Sailing instead of jetsking.
Mangrove Mama's instead of Sloppy Joe's - (although we stopped going to Key West when they opened a Bath & Body Works on Duval Street.....)
But for the sake of the kids, when not in the Caribbean, you'll probably find us in line for 'it's a small world' at the Magic Kingdom and playing in the sand pool at Disney's Yacht Club, our fav on-site resort.
As the kids get older we plan to venture further, but for now since we travel with diapers and bags of Goldfish crackers, we must abide by the kid-airplane tolerance threshold (or K.A.T.T. as we call it) of four hours or less. Currently, Hawaii and Greece surpass the K.A.T.T. by more than 7 hours so they are out of the question.....
Here are a few of our favorite trips:
Cozumel, Tulum and Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Disney Cruise & Castaway Cay
Disney World & the Disney Resorts
Florida: Vero Beach, Ft Myers
Hilton Head Island
Key West & the Florida Keys
Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas
Sint Maarten / St Martin
