Fishers Wrestling Club offers opportunities for kids grades K-12 in the Fishers, IN area to gain experience with the sport of wrestling. There are programs for beginners and their parents that include short camps in the summer and fall to learn about the sport. Elementary school wrestlers who have already experienced the sport can participate in a longer season during the winter. Junior high and high school wrestlers have an opportunity to participate after their school season ends through the end of the school year. There are also summer camp opportunities for all ages.
For elementary school wrestlers, FWC focuses mainly on Folkstyle wrestling that they will use when they compete for their junior high and high school teams. When the kids get older and more experienced, the club also provides opportunities in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, which are the styles used at the olympic and world level.
Fishers Wrestling Club began in the 2006-07 season, which was also the first year of Fishers High School. The objective of the club is to provide a grassroots educational program about the sport while helping to support the overall wrestling program that goes through Fishers High School.
