Welcome to my Genealogy Pages

I've been researching our family's roots for over 15 years now and find it a very exciting (and compulsive) hobby. I feel in some way that I am my family's
storyteller. I've been most fortunate that a number of other very generous researchers have contributed much of the information on these pages and to them I am extremely grateful. The following pages include accounts of some of our family's ancestors, our Family Trees, and much more.

Our families hailed mainly from England, but also from Scotland and Ireland, and settled in mainly in South Australia, Victoria, and later in New South Wales around the Riverina area.

On my husband's paternal Fisher line I have traced most lines back to their first arrival in Australia, the earliest, his great grandfather, John Raven Fisher, arrived in Victoria in 1879. Other families on this line include McFarlane, Sweetland, Helyer and Williams. Tom's maternal Miller and Foster lines arrived in Western Australia in 1910 and 1913 respectively.

My lines emigrated from England and Scotland and settled mainly in South Australia and Gippsland Victoria and later in New South Wales around the Riverina area. My paternal Howlett, Hogben, Maidment, Ellis families settled in South Australia in the late 1830s and early 1840s. My scottish Edington line arrived in New South Wales in the early 1920's via New Zealand. My Rodgers and McLurkin lines came from Ireland and settled in Scotland. On my mother's side is the Hollins and Kent families who settled in the Riverina from Gippsland and near Ballarat, after emigrating from England.

I hope you enjoy exploring my pages and discover a connection to my lot. More will be added as I dig deeper, so please call back some time and enjoy your visit!

If you think you have a link to any of my families, please feel free to email me!
