Perch Fishing Package

Available April through September.

Perch fishing is great for everyone whether it be a single fisherman or a family with kids. They are a blast to catch with larger quantities caught, and at times fast action. Perch swim in schools and often move in and of the same general location. They will often “come on” all of a sudden, in a “feeding frenzy” where you will be catching one fish right after another.

You won't be able to get your pole back in the water fast enough, and when you do, you’ll have another fish.

*Perch is excluded from the free fish cleaning offer as there are usually large quantities of fish caught, and much more time needed to clean them. We will clean your perch for an additional fee of $20.00

Information about the Perch Species:

Perch are a popular sport fish in Utah.

Especially the giant 12" + slabs found in the Jordanelle Reservoir. They put up a  great fight, and they are very good eating. They can be caught with a variety of methods, including drift fishing, and fishing with the boat anchored dropping your line straight down off the side of the boat. I have some secrets to  successful perch fishing that I will share while on your trip.

Best Bait For Catching Perch

They will take a variety of baits, including minnows, worms, maggots, pieces of raw bacon, and soft shell crayfish, but seem to prefer a small piece of night crawler or red worm. Wax worms and meal worms are also great baits to catch Perch.

The record weight for this fish was caught in Britain weighing in at 6 lb 3 oz (2.81 kg), and in America 6 lb 4 oz (2.83 kg). Perch grow to around 5 lb (2.3 kg) or more, but the most common fish to be caught are around 1 lb (0.45 kg) or less, and anything over 2 lb (0.91 kg) is considered a trophy.
