Kentucky Hot Browns - Finding Joy in My Kitchen
Thick slices of toast (I used French Bread that I baked in the bread maker)
1 sliced tomato
1 C shredded cheddar cheese
Slices of leftover turkey (warmed)
1 C leftover gravy
3/4 C milk
1/8 tsp. pepper
1-2 T flour (depending on how thick your gravy is...)
6 slices of bacon
Begin by placing the sliced bread into a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Top the bread evenly with sliced turkey and sliced tomatoes (I've thought about adding avocado too!).
Pour gravy into a sauce pan -- add additional flour mixed with ~1/2 C milk if you need to thicken your gravy more.
If not, just add the gravy and milk to the saucepan, and heat until warmed.
Remove from the heat and stir in 3/4 of the cheese.
Evenly pour the gravy over the bread and sprinkle with cheese.
Broil in the oven for 3-4 minutes until the dish is bubbly.
