VPNs

posted 16 Aug 2013, 13:36 by Matthew Carter   [ updated 10 Jun 2014, 13:32 ]

We have our new line & modem, see speed result here, it's much improved from this XD I'm now Port-forwarding, so you can access directly without needing to join a VPN.

I treat Hamachi like a virus, so should you.
Tunngle was designed for gaming, so it works way better. (and it actually works :D)
Copy this:
tunngle://JoinNetwork Minecraft
Paste it in your address bar and press enter to connect to the Minecraft Tunngle network.

Pinging

posted 16 Apr 2013, 11:34 by Matthew Carter   [ updated 4 Jun 2014, 21:07 ]

[NOT VALID AT THE MOMENT]
To Ping my Hamachi IP to find my Public IP:
Windows:
Press [Win Key] + R
type cmd, press enter
type 'ping 25.70.254.14'
wait... have a look around, it should come up with something that looks like 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'
ip
(click/tap to open in new tab)
As you can see in this screenshot it returned the Hamachi IP, because I was running it off the old host.

Contact me if you can't connect or if you believe a server that is listed to be up is down.

Server Host Info

posted 20 Mar 2013, 08:09 by Matthew Carter   [ updated 15 Jun 2015, 12:36 ]

The computer which i used to run the server on is currently not available. When I manage to get the computer back and working, I will get the server running again and change this notice. Thankfully I am waiting to get my own personal computer, (I will be building it myself!!), you can see it here, and then the server will be up ALL THE TIME except when our router crashes (about once a month??) and even that will only be for a few minutes.
UPDATE [25 Mar 2013 06:01]: I will get my computer and assemble it in the next few days, and the first thing that I will do is look into getting the server up and running, ALTHOUGH the map, settings and plugins are inaccessible until I get access to the old laptop :(
UPDATE [1 Apr 2013 11:13]: SO, I received the computer, assembled it, and GUESS WHAT: the PSU blew 3 seconds after I turned it on :( Along with that computer, I got a less powerful ready-built computer with Windows 8, here, and extra: 4GBs of RAM(instead of 2), Keyboard & Mouse Combo:: Standard Keyboard & Mouse, Operating System:: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional, and soon I will have the server up again. It will take some time though.
UPDATE [12 Apr 2013 20:29]: YAY!!! FINALLY got access to the old host, Now i can get the server files back!! Expect the server to be up in the next few hours.
UPDATE [18 June 2013 20:47]: WOOOHOOOOO finally got MY computer working (stupid windows) and now i can run it on that. My computer is the one in the link above (also here) so now i can run it with a lot more resources, but first i will need to move the server files off the old host. (Already copied the terraria files)
UPDATE [12 Aug 2013 20:06]: I had copied the server files long ago, but only found the time to update this now :P I have not ran the server in a long time nor updated the plugins or server launcher. I have started modding and playing Minecraft recently, so I might at some point update the server and the plugins e.t.c.
UPDATE [26 Aug 2013 19:27]: I have downloaded a few versions of craftbukkit.jar (the server file), so I now have 1.4.7 R1.0, 1.5.1 R0.1.jar, 1.5.2 R0.1, 1.5.2 R0.2 2013-05-28 06-02-12-8.jar, 1.5.2 R1.0, 1.6.2 R0.1 so I can run those versions without downloading them. I still haven't actually ran the server, so the plugins have not been updated.
UPDATE [1 Sep 2013 01:44]: Now I have updated the server to CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.5.2-R1.0-b2788jnks (MC: 1.5.2) (Implementing API version 1.5.2-R1.0)!! some of the plugins updated, and I updated LWC manually. Also I think Hamachi is working! And for some reason my network has 5/256 users?? can anyone explain to me how this works, since I have a free account? Come Join!!
UPDATE [10 Dec 2013 05:33]: Updated the server to CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.6.4-R2.0-b2918jnks (MC: 1.6.4) (Implementing API version 1.6.4-R2.0). Updated all plugins, and the plugins page. New world, new configs. Hamachi seems to be working! (Not tested yet, but it gives no errors) Talk to me, best way is over skype, about networks/hamachi.
UPDATE [03 June 2014 10:15]: Server is now going to be open full-time, please contact me though for Tunngle info. We are getting a new ADSL 4MB/s line soon, and I might be able to port-forward through that, which would mean no VPNs! :D I'm still running the version of bukkit mentioned above, for MC 1.6.4, since that is the recommended server version.
UPDATE [10 June 2014 09:15]: We have our new line & modem, see speed result here, it's much improved XD I'm now Port-forwarding, so you can access directly without needing to join a VPN.

Backup v2.5
CraftBook v3.8-SNAPSHOT:3803-e037f90,master

Please inform me if you are aware there is an update to a plugin listed here.
