Alexandra Arms

So, not impressed then!
It appears they are having trouble getting punters in and so want local (young?) bands to bring in loads of people.

Message from our agent:  "...really sorry but got to cancel the gigs we have booked in for The Alexandra Arms. Music there is not going well at min, (as you prob noticed last night) and boss wants it to be local bands with massive following only till it picks up"

MInd you, the people that did turn up enjoyed the music (and seemed to be getting through large amounts of larger)

Castle Inn, Pevensey Bay

Well, what a great night at The Castle. It was Valentines Night and a lot of couples having romantic dinners etc. They all stayed on for a great night of music and dancing.

Jeff brought along his new amp which sounded v.good

Val and Chris Langford turned up which was a nice touch for us too.

Hope to get some more gigs here this year so whatch this space.

Saturday's gig at the Smugglers in Pevensey has been cancelled.
Sue (The Boss) said they have been struggling with low customer numbers since Christmas and have had to cancel two Saturdays this year.

TUC Club

posted 6 Jan 2015, 11:00 by Tony Ellis

The remaining gig at the TUC club in Seaside ( April 24) has been cancelled.

This was the result of some awkward moments during the last couple of gigs in 2014 - See earlier posts for details.

We would like to thank the club members for their support over the years and maybe see some of you at the Smugglers in Pevensey from time to time.

... Bit of an improvement on last week. All dancers up and at it in the first song and they stayed on the floor 'till the last.

Well done everyone!

Trouble at TUC Club (Again)

posted 16 Nov 2014, 00:59 by Tony Ellis

First we must apologise to our friends and supporters for cutting short the gig last night at the club.
Some members (known for their complaints about noisy live music) usually sit at the end of the club away from the stage area. This time they had decided to relocate to the other end, nearer the band. After our third song they complained that we were too loud.

We turned down and played some quieter songs. Again they complained.

We turned down again. Again they complained. By this time Jeff had had enough. "I'm going home! he said, "I'm not putting up with this!". We all agreed.

So after just half of our first set we packed up and left.

Regular members came up and said how sorry they were about the people who had spoiled the evening and said how much they had enjoyed our brief performance.

Watch this space for updates.

TUC gigs cancelled

posted 17 May 2014, 15:33 by Tony Ellis

It appears that the TUC Club committee have decided they do not want us at the club for the remaining gigs this year.

This seems to be the result of a missing understanding about playing times exstended (without our knowledge) to 12:00 finish.

Watch this space!
