Our Mission

Friends Involved in Dog Outreach (FIDO)

FIDO was founded and started its AniMeals program in 2004 in partnership with Clackamas County Social Services and Senior Meals programs. We are a 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization, dedicated to helping people and their pet companions stay together.

Our AniMeals program delivers pet food along with the Meals-on-Wheels program every other week to recipients who often are at risk of sacrificing their own nutrition to feed their animals. This also reduces the necessity of relinquishing their pet(s), which is akin to losing a family member and is especially depressing to our senior population.

In 2016, we helped to prevent this from happening by:

- Providing 32,023 pounds and 3,648 cans of dog and cat food

- Serving 156 Seniors through 12 Senior Centers and Routes

- Feeding 258 Pet Companions

Our Pet Food Bank was created in 2009 for the express purpose of providing people of limited means a way to keep their animals. We accomplish this by offering dog and cat food distribution services through our Food Bank on a monthly basis to those who financially qualify.

In 2016, our Pet Food Bank provided:

        - Provided 40,868 pounds of pet food

        - Served 1105 families and 3,421 Pet Companions
