Neon Tetra

Paracheirodon innesi

The neon tetra is one of the most popular aquarium fish. It is a schooling fish that is best kept in groups of 6 or more. They are very sensitive to water conditions, so when you first get them, be sure to acclimate them very slowly. They are peaceful, but may be seen chasing each other. This is normal behavior in most schooling fish. Be sure to provide lots of plant cover. Neon tetras are timid and will need places to hide to avoid stress.
