Bristlenose Plecostomus

Ancistrus temminckii

If you are looking for a pleco for your small tank, the bristlenose pleco is for you. It is the smallest of the easier to find plecos, and is an eager scavenger. They are great algae eaters, but cannot live only on algae. They must be fed fresh veggies for optimal health. It is peaceful around other fish and will not normally go after other fish's slime coating. Like other plecos, they are large producers of waste, so keep this in mind when stocking your tank.

Maximum size: 5 inches

Minimum tank size: 10 gallons
