Three Spot Gourami

Trichogaster trichopterus

One of the larger species of gourami, the 3 spot gourami tends to be territorial. Males should not be kept together under normal circumstances, which is the case for most gouramis. Generally considered good community fish when small, but they are not as peaceful as the other gouramis. They have been known to attack smaller fish, and become belligerent or territorial as adults. There are 2 color morphs of the 3 Spot Gourami; the Blue Gourami and the Gold Gourami.

 Maximum size: 6 inches

Minimum tank size: 30 gallons

Water requirements: 75-82° F, a Ph of 6.5-7.5 is best

Breeding: egg layer/bubblenest
