The CCC supports the CFHS Counseling department. If you are a college representative who wishes to schedule a visit, please contact College Visit Coordinator Tami Graves: firstname.lastname@example.org or 520-209-8305.
- HOST COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVES during their recruiting visits on campus
The CFHS counseling office schedules college visits year-round; CCC volunteers facilitate the college representatives' visits by greeting the representatives, directing reps and students to the appropriate meeting rooms and providing passes to students attending the visit. Hosting college visits is a great way to learn about individual schools as well as the college admissions process.
- MAINTAIN THE RESOURCE LIBRARY
The resource room is inside House 1 adjacent to the counseling office and contains college view books, test study guides, reference materials on scholarships and the college admissions process and more. The CCC purchases resource materials to loan to parents and students researching colleges and/or careers. CCC volunteers organize and shelve books.
- ORGANIZE CAREER SEMINARS
CCC volunteers organize this evening career forum at least once per year in which members of the professional community discuss their personal journey toward their present-day career, including their college choice, how they chose their field of interest and what a typical day in the life of an accountant, attorney, engineer, doctor entails.
- MAINTAIN A CAREER MENTORING DATABASE
CCC volunteers collect contact information from district parents representing various professional backgrounds who are willing to speak with students exploring those career paths. The CCC provides this contact information to parents and students who then pursue the mentoring process on their own. If you or your student wish to participate, please complete the applicable form found by clicking the "Forms" button in the left sidebar.
- HOST ALUMNI DAY
CCC volunteers organize this information session for graduating seniors during a regularly-scheduled home base period during second semester. Students meet with prior year CFHS alums who provide information on the first-year college experience.
- FACILITATE THE TUTORING CLUB PRACTICE SAT/ACT TEST
CCC volunteers facilitate the on-campus administration of this test which provides students (usually sophomores and juniors) the chance to complete sample questions from both the SAT and ACT standardized tests. Students receive professional feedback regarding their performance on both types of test questions. Students pay a fee to take this assessment; the funds are used to support the CCC's operations for the year.
