Flux Emergence Workshop 2019 will be held from March 18 (Mon) to 22 (Fri), 2019, at the University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus, in Tokyo, Japan. Magnetic flux emergence from the solar convection zone to the upper atmosphere plays an important role on the Sun, producing active regions and driving explosive events such as bursts, jets, flares, and CMEs. The FEW series started in 2007 with the aim of fostering discussion and collaboration among the scientists who are interested in the topics related to flux emergence. As in the previous FEWs, we welcome all aspects of flux emergence that include, but not limited to
- Dynamo and emerging flux in the convection zone
- Flux emergence in the quiet Sun
- Formation of active regions
- Flux emergence and explosive events (bursts, jets, flares, CMEs, etc.)
- Advances in observations and numerical modeling
The number of participants will be limited to about 40 to keep enough time for discussion.
