This is the site for Edinburgh’s Festival of Libraries 2008!

The Festival ran from Saturday 8th November - Friday 14th November 2008. The festival is over but the libraries are still there - ready and waiting for you!

Edinburgh’s Festival of Libraries 2008 was a week long programme of events planned across the city. There were 67 events that happened over 7 days involving 54 different organisations. You can see the huge range of events and organisations involved by looking at the programme in the side menu. Here is what some of our visitors said:

  • congratulations on exciting week. Looking forward to next year
  • festival was excellent - more please!
  • fantastic! Looking forward to next year's events
  • it was good to learn about the many services offered which I didn't know about before
  • well worked for children - often overlooked at events
  • well done to everyone for a great event - the knowledge and commitment of library staff in Edinburgh is impressive.
  • thanks, it's got me enthused about a number of things I had no idea about

The Festival is over and plans are afoot for next year - but the libraries are still here! Find out exactly where by looking at the Edinburgh Libraries Guide. Want to visit various libraries - why don't you drop into your local library and apply for an Edinburgh Libraries Passport?
