The deadline for having all state audition music learned with accompaniment only is January 15. All state qualified students and alternates must have their music learned by this date or they will lose the privilege of auditioning. All state music practices will resume on Wednesday, January 6. Students who are unable to attend practices must make an appointment to sing the music for Ms. Taylor before January 15. The audition process is too expensive and too competitive to allow unprepared students to participate. Auditions will be held at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro on Friday, February 5.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to support the choir incentive awards program. The awards program honors and rewards outstanding choir students who have demonstrated exceptional musical talent and skills, dedication, discipline and the desire to succeed in the area of vocal music. Thirty-six choir students received recognition and awards through the incentive program for their accomplishments in the 2008-2009 school year. These accomplishments included two Arkansas All State Choir members and nineteen members of the Southwest Region All Region Honors Choirs.

Mick Riley is the sound technician for the event. All the artists and Mr. Riley are donating their time and talent to support the Mena choir program.
