Senior Economist at the World Bank
I am a Ph.D. in Economics working at the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice at the World Bank. Prior to joining the World Bank I worked as a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile.
I am interested in macroeconomic issues such as financial crises, growth and development, and business cycles, with an emphasis on emerging markets. My research addresses questions related to the transmission mechanisms of financial crises, the role of financial frictions, and the determinants of Exchange-Rate Pass-Through, among others. I use microdata to search for hints on the mechanisms underlying aggregate outcomes.
