Fostering A Hope — Shayla's Local Love Mission

Fostering A Hope (FAH) is in the process of becoming a nonprofit organization that inspires others to overcome life trials through fundraising, volunteering, raising awareness, teaching, and praising online, in the community and by supporting other charities.

FAH first mission is to start a #FEEDTHEHUNGRYMOVEMENT with Fellowship of the Word's great help by supporting City Set on a Hill's ministry, led by Jeff Mauney and his mission is to help feed the homeless and to share his testimony on how he came to know God.  Together we are working on collecting non-perishable large can food items, hygiene items, and gift cards.  They do have a more extended list inside the shelter if you desire to give more.  They are located in Gastonia, 7 days a week, starting at 7p.m., and can give receipts for tithing purposes if asked.  Check out the photos to the right to get a better sense of what is going on and feel free to contact me with questions or feedback.

Visit me (Shayla) at Facebook — FosteringAHope — for daily encouragement and updates.

Help Philippine Brethren Attend the Feast of Tabernacles!

Last year individual Christians, ministries, congregations and the Common Faith Network raised $15,000 to support a number of non-denomination Church of God Philippine congregations to observe the Feast of Tabernacles in Davao City. The feast was a great success. Their pastor, Ed Macaraeg, sent a beautiful album with photos and hand written thank you notes from many of the almost 120 brethren who were able to attend. A few of those pictures are included in this email. He also sent a detailed accounting of every dollar spent.

Ed has asked for help again this year. Common Faith Network is organizing the donations and contributing as well to the $15,000 needed to supplement the money they have locally from tithes and offerings.

If you can, please make a donation to help these brethren. The Church of God Cincinnati is collecting the funds for this effort on behalf of Common Faith Network. Because the Philippine churches need to pay for rooms in advance, we would like to raise this money by September.

You can make your check payable to the Church of God, Cincinnati with a note that it be used for the Philippine Feast Fund. Donations will be receipted for tax purposes in the USA by the Church of God, Cincinnati.
