Welcome to my website! I am a PhD student at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and graduate member of Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge.

My project is set within the ChEMBL group with John Overington as my thesis advisor. ChEMBL is an openĀ  data base providing bioactivity data for small, drug-like molecules. We also keep a group blog to which I contribute posts about newly approved drugs.

I recently submitted my PhD dissertation titled Integration and analysis of protein evolutionary relationships and small molecule bioactivity data. The thesis describes my work of integrating bioactivity data from the ChEMBL database with homology information from EnsemblCompara as well as the Pfam collection of protein families. This integration work allowed me to systematically analyse measured small molecule bioactivities in the context of protein evolution - for example by comparing susceptibility to small molecule perturbation in two relevant species, human and rat.

At the moment I am looking for a position working with biological/clinical data - please feel free to contact me if you work in this area.
